I recently picked up an old issue of The World of Interiors featuring a beautiful flat in London which had a subtle white-on-white colour scheme. The walls and Regency architraving were painted with a jaw dropping 12 different shades of white (their painter must have been very understanding!). The textiles were also white with various textures and tones. The effect was very calm and elegant, without being stark.

I thought I'd post some images from the Serenity collection, by Chivasso, which nails this white-on-white scheme perfectly. With plenty of embossed and textured patterns the look is never boring.
