Zuster + Textilia = UniqueThursday, November 03, 2011

Following on from their highly successful Jade collection, Zuster have released the new Sabrina. Here's a striking image from the press release...

Zuster Unique Fabrics Textilia

I love the European styling of the sofa, with its elegant proportions and use of oak. And we're chuffed to see that Zuster have used the Textilia design Clevedon, colour Rabbit. Clevedon is available in nine different colourways and is a hardy blend of acrylic and polyester, suitable for heavy domestic upholstery.

For two years now we have been representing Textilia in Australia and we're very pleased with how well the venture is going. The Textilia range beautifully complements our own collections, offering our Australian clients a greater selection of design basics.

Thank you to Sarah for forwarding these images to me. And thank you to Fleur at Zuster for allowing us to use them.

For the birdsFriday, October 28, 2011

Are you a fan of avian-themed designs? In a recent issue Belle included one of our designs in a 'Focus' on bird-inspired wallpapers...

Saga ll

The design (above right) is from Arte's Saga II collection, in the 29151 colourway. Here is another image from Arte's press release...

Birds Unique Fabrics

This design is just one of four recent wallcoverings we have released with an avian theme...

And the contemporary 'Hunting' from the Wild collection, designed by Andrea Pößnicker...

Hunting Wild

I suspect birds have been used as decorative motifs for as long as humans have been decorating their environs. And they certainly have a timeless grace and grandeur about them which endures.

Model HomeMonday, October 17, 2011

One of the key themes for our Spring releases is vibrant colour and nothing epitomises this more than our Iman Home collection. When I was first told about this range I was skeptical - another celebrity jumps on the design band wagon! But I checked it out because it was from a very reputable mill and sure enough it was a great match for our colour forward season.

Iman Alhambra Amour

Iman Home is a blast of colour with eclectic designs which have broad ethnic references; from kilims and ikats to exotic florals and geometrics. (Above: Alhambra Amour; below left: Punjab Peacock; below right: Sultana Lattice)

Iman Java Moon

(Top: Java Moon; Above: Zebra Oasis)

The majority of Iman Home designs are printed cotton. Three designs sport embroidered embellishments (Java Moon, Punjab Peacock and Assyrian Vine). Sultana Lattice has a flocked pattern, while Zebra Oasis is a jacquard weave. These designs are perfect for drapery, light upholstery and accessory purposes.

We showed Iman Home at MDC's recent Design Review day and it was extremely well received. Here's a shot of Angelique setting up the Iman table before the showings...

Iman Angelique

By the way, thank you to all our clients who turned out for the Design Review Day at MDC. It was lovely to see you and thank you for all the positive comments our Spring/Summer releases received.

Andrew Martin Design ReviewMonday, October 10, 2011

Volume 15 of Andrew Martin's Design Review has arrived. I know that it's a highly prized publication for many interior designers as a fabulous source of inspiration and international trends. Volume 15 is no different; it's packed with glorious images of remarkable interiors from all around the world. The range of different projects is impressive too. This edition seems to include more restaurants, marine fitouts and hotels than previous years.

It's also exciting to see a number of Australian designers featured. Congratulations to Les Interieurs, Hecker Guthrie, Blainey North, Robert Mills Architects and Interior Designers and Hare & Klein (again!). Your work looks stunning.

If you would like to purchase Design Review; Volume 15, please contact us. We only have a limited number available, and if previous years are anything to go by, they sell out quickly. They make wonderful Christmas presents too.

Enjoy your week.

Passementerie: Artisanal StyleFriday, September 30, 2011

I'd like to introduce Travers' new release: It's a collection of Passementerie. But wait! Artisanal is not your average Passementerie. Artisanal offers a fresh, distinctive look which features ombré effects, woven textures and ikat weaves. Take a look...

The colour palette is sophisticated, with the Navy being my favourite. This colourway was the one we selected for our showroom displays (using our linens Logan, Blake and Bailey)...
